I’ve worked on some kind of abstract panorams, using different angles / sizes / perspective. Balance your panorama image with tall versus short objects and smooth versus rough objects. There might be transparent pixels on the edges of the panoramic image. As far as panorama creation, everyone has a favourite method and I see little added value in having a Picasa based panorama stitching function. I find it best to use portrait rather than landscape as you will fit more detail in without having to move the camera up and down.
They are created by stitching (assembling) of multiple normal photos together side-by-side, which creates a photo with much wider angle that would be possible with a normal lens.
I generally shoot raw+ for most everything, so I can work either way without a hitch.
Create panorama pictures
Most software cannot cope with a mixture of lenses being used for a panoramic sequence – they assume the same lens was used throughout, or more specifically that the lens was used with exactly the same settings (including focus). Test the image alignment by looking through the camera view finder while panning across the landscape. It is important to keep your camera at the same level as you take each shot. And P3 has no problem editing them after they are built. AutoPano does a decent job sometimes, but it often picks out clouds, cars, blown branches and other moveable objects, which doesn’t help anything.
